This aging, 1970’s example of “rural modern” was renovated and expanded to meet the lifestyle needs of its owners. Working in collaboration with Craig Halvorson, the continuity of landscape and living space was realized through a series of carefully orchestrated views and the creation of a variety of outdoor rooms, based on the plan of the house. A completely renovated interior featuring a new entrance, kitchen, living space and elevator from the lower level complete the renovation of this hilltop residence. Today, the house engages the meadow of the rolling hill, echoing the gentle rolling topography that one associates with the beauty of the Berkshires.
