This transit-oriented mixed-use development illustrates how a well-founded public-private partnership can result in the successful implementation of a community’s vision. Working with JHR Development, Form + Place crafted a revised master plan which, together with a creative approach to zoning and recommended phasing, provided the necessary tools to address current economic realities. An engaging community process and a clever layering of funds has resulted in a project that has already completed two phases of construction, with an active mix of uses including an Amtrak train station, commercial/retail space and the new Brunswick Inn across from the Bowdoin College campus.
