This 5 million square foot proposal for the revitalization of the former DC General Hospital site affords the opportunity to reconnect the existing Hill East neighborhood to the Anacostia Riverfront. Utilizing the sloping topography of the site, the new development is designed around a series of public open spaces with buildings carefully scaled to be compatible with the surrounding context. Below-grade parking is built into the hillside, creating pedestrian-friendly streetscapes that connect to an existing Metro stop. Project designed by John Rufo and Michael Wang at Arrowstreet, Inc.
